Exhibition at Frasers Cafe in Mount Eden Village

New Zealand:  Close up

This exhibition was put together by Judith Holtebrinck in 2006 with the generous support from Friendlypak.

With this exhibition, our intention is to expose the impact the plastic bags have on our environment as well as our clean and green image. The fact is that they do not break down in our lifetime and therefore don’t simply go away. We find them everywhere in New Zealand, even in the most remotes places. The solution can be simple and has been done in other countries such as Ireland. Ireland has reduced its plastic checkout bag usage by 90% by simply putting a tax on plastic bags. we think that is a great initiative that should be introduced in New Zealand. Find out more . . .
