‘Sharkwater’, Rob Stewart’s award-winning documentary screens free of charge

January 25th, 2013

Thursday 31 January at 7.30pm
Auckland University
Library Basement, Room B10

‘Sharkwater’ highlights a global problem that New Zealand is now involved in through current legislation that allows shark finning. New Zealand is one of the top twenty exporters of shark fin in the world.

After the film there will be a Q & A with New Zealand Shark Alliance members to discuss the National Plan of Action – shark legislation which is due for public consultation and review soon. We will also discuss practical solutions that would conserve shark populations. New Zealand can be part of a worldwide effort to protect these apex predators critical to the health of the ocean. Please come to this one-off screening and find out how we all can participate to support our sharks! Please promote this event to others who might be interested in attending.
