Community fruit trees for Auckland

We had a wonderful day planting community fruit trees on Sunday. Around 50 people joined our community fruit tree planting day in Mt Eden including our guest of honour – the wonderful Te Radar and his team from Jam TV who were supporting our vision of fruit trees for Auckland.

Thank you to everyone’s contribution, we planted 20 trees in 45 minutes – could be a gold medal if we had fruit tree planting as an Olympic sport. This will be a yearly event in our community and we are now raising funds for the planting in 2013.

Thank you to our local shops and businesses for donating the trees, to David and Ellen for the hand crafted stakes, Antony for the beautiful compost and Tree Total for the free mulch. And thanksĀ  to the weather gods for a sunny day.
