Community Garden Mt Eden, Poronui street

The long awaited community garden for Mount Eden has been established. The launching was on the 10th of October with lots of hands planting the new boxes as we acknowledged many who had worked and donated goods to make this happen. The next day the birds got into the action  as well and pecked alot of the new seedlings- we have now installed bird netting.

Water is crucial to any garden, so we approached our next door neighbours to get access to their water line. They have agreed- thanks Mt Eden Tennis Club.
The next task is to install  a tap with a water meter. Our latest quote is $700 plus GST, however we have no funds at present to do this. Meanwhile we are hand watering from the water supplies of other kind neighbours.

The next tasks include putting in three more planter boxes, we have the wood to construct these but  we are now looking for some soil.

On our wish list:
1) A friendly plumber who could help us by installing our tap with a water meter.

2) Bricks, Soil, Garden Hose, Garden shed

We look forward to hearing from you!
