10/10/10 Global climate working bee in Mt Eden Village

Scientists say that 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is the safe upper limit for humanity, we are now at 392 and heating up!! 10/10/10 is a global event when communities around the world come together to take action on climate change (for more info check www.350.org)

Our response to climate change is to ‘think global, act local’
On the 10/10/10 we get together to work towards a sustainable future in Mt Eden by starting a community garden and reusing food waste from our local shops to build compost.

This is what we, the Mount Eden Village People ( TT Mt Eden) have come up with for the day:

  • Collecting vegetable leftovers from our local shops
  • Compost building from scratch
  • Set up a community garden
  • Celebrate our achievement with with yummy treats from the Essential Deli

Kids activities on the day: Treasure hunt, face painting, gardening, seed planting, raffle tickets with great prizes from our local shops.

Please join us for a day of fun and community achievement:

Where we meet: Poronui street, behind the bowling club
When: from 2- 4pm
