Artist in Eden

What a fantastic event that was!  The artwork we saw was outstanding, the auction was great fun and we had a good catch up with our community to talk about a sustainable future in Mt Eden.

About 40 artists were in Essex Reserve working on their paintings which were auctioned at 2.30pm. The proceeds of the auction went towards awards for emerging artists and the promotion of the arts in the greater Mt Eden area.

This year there were applied artists Stanley Palmer, Bronwynne Cornish, Peter Lange, Marte Szirmay and Layla Walter also worked during the day.  The public was welcome to browse while these prominent artists painted.  A collaborative work by Paul Woodruffe and Adrian Jackman in NKB gallery, Mt Eden Road was sold at the auction.

There was an activity tent for the children, making masks, and music and a balloon sculpturer in the park also.
